I installed a ‘00, 5.9 in my ‘79 Magnum. The following parts were used;Hello has anyone put a 97-99 5.9 motor in a older car say my 67 Plymouth Belvedere and what would it take to get it to fit and running
600 Edelbrock AVS
RPM AG
Vacuum advance distributor & chrome box ignition.
Hooker Super Comp headers @ 1-3/4, 2-1/2 exhaust. No ground clearance issues! Superior fit!
(Cheaper by half at the time over the TTI headers.)
B&M flex plate to mate external balanced engine to neutral balance converter for the 727.
Stock engine mounts.
Cobbled a cool mint to mount it vertical.
Alt. Was a splicing if wires.
A/C delete uses a short belt.
The intake needs a flush sitting water plug under the bracket. I used a female hex plug.
Remote oil filter doesn’t have to be done with the headers. Plenty of room for a large filter.
