Passon makes an OD gear set that bolts right in to an 833. It's more like a 3 spd with OD (.8:1) but a cheaper alternative. Or if you don't plan on putting a ton of HP through it, look for a factory 833 OD tranny in a wrecking yard. Those used run about $250.00. If you must have a 5 spd then your choices are limited and expensive.

I have been looking for the same thing, and they are pricey. Even a 4 speed conversion is 4K to start if you want a rebuilt trans. You can find used kits on ebay:

I've considered this option as well

I bought one of the ebay kits and was disappointed in the fact it came with a gm 833 made it work but it was not stated as such
