Did the final cuts and adjusts on the floor insulation. I'm going to use some of the double sided carpet tape under the insulation in a few spots instead of glueing it down. Carpet going in soon. I talked to a local auto glass shop about doing the windshield. They said they could do glass, seal, and install for $450, at my house. Is that a decent deal?

What brand of glass ? the cheap glass that I have seen looks distorted when looking through it, Pilkington looks great . 450 with gasket is still a little high, but if its done correct with a warranty & a Pilkington glass, go for it.

I looked at those, they're not discounted and shipping is $170. Thanks anyway.. Shipping is the killer on ordering big glass. I'll call the local shop again and ask about the brand and quality.

Just make sure to inspect your glass before signing from freight carrier. My first set of glass I returned because they didn't package it correctly and a quarter window rubbed on the rear glass and left a scratch.

I think I'm going with the local glass shop deal if the say it's pilkington like Charlie mentioned or as good. I'll inspect it before they take it off the truck to install it, at my house. Do I put the trim clips on before the glass goes in? And could someone show me some pics of how they go on plz?

Yes, install the trim clips before the windshield is installed.

I've done some net searching and think I noticed some slight differences in the windshield clips depending on who sells them. Here is the set I bought, 16 of one type(smaller) and 10 of another (larger). I assume that the 10 larger go across the bottom and the 16 smaller go on sides and top?

I think I have them figured out now. There seems to be only one way they can go. Large on bottom, small on sides and top.

in 68 it could have short OR tall one on the bottom, very early 68 had the tall ones, yours looks correct, must be a early one

I had planned to use a nice red piece of house carpet that would have been ok but it seemed to be a lot stiffer than house carpet that I used years ago in my old RR. So I broke down and ordered a new set from Year One along with some new wire harnesses, dash to tail lights and engine which has the e-ignition mod. The 2 piece carpet will be better also because now I can go ahead and put the rear section in along with the roll bar and rear seat delete stuff, then put the main front carpet in later to keep it from getting dirty.

I looked on here, but could not find, what,where,who did you get your roll bar, I REALLY don't want to put one in my Charger, BUT, the car runs times well below the rules requiring a roll bar.

lol, (In post #4) I mentioned that I got an 8pt roll bar kit from jegs. After an hour of searching their site and summit's they seem to not be selling them anymore for a gen 2 charger, but they sell them for every other car ever made. Really makes me wonder how that could be. Call them and ask, to be sure. But anyway, Mine started as an 8pt but I added some more small bars that go from the door bars to the firewall and connect to the chassis stiffener bars that are welded to the shock towers. With the nhra legal couplers, foot plates, and thicker than required mount plates under the floor (which are welded to the frame, sub frame connectors and rear frame rails) it all bolts in. And I am sure it is just as strong or maybe even stronger than a weld in. If you put one in your car- tilt the main hoop back a tad to match the angle of the vertical side windows divider seal trim. That is what Hemirunner did in his incredible superbird and it looks a lot better that way.
