I have a 62 413 I want to put back together, going to run the original 324 heads but gonna clean up the bowls and ports just a little bit, planning on buying a set of pistons from hughes, just flat top pistons and probably running a .020 steel head gasket depending on compression ratio I calculate up, I have this cam out of my 440 I took out cause my 440 is a low compression late model engine and it was just to much for it, but now I'm thinking about running it in my 413, what you guys think, trying to build my engine around my cam

I completely understand working with what you have.
Others with more experience will chime in.
Myself , if i was going to buy pistons I would get a set for the low compression 440 and do the head work to it also
( prob 452s) ?
With that cam and a decent gear should be a good starting point.

Hughes offers 413 pistons? I checked and looks like all they have for RB's was for 440's. Silv-o-lite offers cast and I believe speed pro offers some flat-top hypereutectic ones, but there's lead times on those being made. Be prepared to do quite a bit of work to those old heads to get them to flow respectably with the small valves, but it's do-able. That cam is fairly rowdy for a street 413, even with a bit higher compressions than the 440, however you're going to need some deeper gears and a stall or manual to get most of the juice out of the combo your putting together. I hope others with more experience will chime in, but as @1967coronet indicated above, if you're already replacing pistons, then why not go with the 440 and the larger bore it already offers?

What gear and converter will you be running? Street driving or more track ? Do you want rumpity rump or friendly driver?

Will that came work? Sure. Will it be fun to drive ? Depends on how tolerant you are.

One size smaller would be a much better "street" cam IMO.

The XE284 likes 10.-1 compression with good flowing heads to shine.

My 440 runs too good right now to tear into it, and since I have this 413 I thought why not, I mean who doesn't love the sound of 413 haha, I thought about going with a set of 452 heads but it will lower my compression ratio and don't want to get into ordering custom pistons, mostly because this is my first time building a engine and so trying not to get carried away to much, i figured if I stick with the 324 heads thought maybe I could get 1.74 exhaust valves put in those heads and clean the bowls and ports up a little and get a little more flow out of them, probably won't be cost effective though but since I have that cam around I could save some dough there, if I had a set of 915s I would use those instead

For all the work that goes into building an engine, with those components you’ll probably be disappointed with the performance.
