got to say over the years the 62 Dodge has been my favorite..the stance along with the speed lines make it look fast sitting still..a grille that is very aggressive and a rear stance that many brand x got to see more often than any other profile of the car...mine is a works in progress..a very slow work as I am still collecting misc. stuff as I go...most find this car a 'love it or hate it' style...the early 60's was not a very forgiving time in US models across the board..but a slight improvement over 61...
Those cars were so ugly when they first came out, the dealers bitched and moaned that they couldn't sell them. And now, everybody wants them.....who knew!!
all it took was to wait till the Pontiac Aztec to come out and damn near every car ever produced has likable body lines...almost (not matter what you do to it..it's still a Vega will always ring true)
I was 10 and I loved the style....of course I like a 50 Studebaker also...talk about a face only a mother could love...well...I've been called that before....majority of my cars are 40-50's Mopars...number of Brit sports but I do have a orphan or two on the property and of course just got a couple of the early 60's Dodge big block cars. So here in my older days I have decided to snag a few of these puppies and if I never get them built..I got a couple grandkids that think pop's cars are righteous...let them continue the faith...
I graduated in June 62, in May my father(he was a C-P dealer) let me order a 62 Belv. post car. It had GC motor, 3 on the tree and Sure-Grip. I drove that car all summer and in the fall he sold it out from under me (new models were coming out). I've been pissed ever since, wish I had that car today.
