Interestingly I had about the same experience. The shape of that pickup is awful. I did get it to work but there wasn’t a chance in hell the windage tray was going to fit, at least without a lot of butchery. For very annoying reasons I can't fully explain, the stock 361 pan bottoms out on the stock 361 pickup when installed in this 440…
Just remember to pull the pan before removing or installing the motor. If you're looking for more capacity with minimal hangdown, the milodon mentioned above in my earlier post. It has the triangular shaped sump with more capacity without being as deep as a normal deep sump pan
Clears on my 62 with a 440.
Says right in the description it fit 66-up, so it likely DOESNT fit 62-65.
Both mine fit 1965 Coronet.Says right in the description it fit 66-up, so it likely DOESNT fit 62-65.
Okay, I'm convinced.Both mine fit 1965 Coronet.

Bottom line: Mopar Performance P5007807AB and Milodon 31580 and the Moroso 20760 noted above are the new oil pans currently available (October 2015) that fit 1962 to 1965 Mopar B body cars.
Assuming the engine is exactly in the stock location. Both mine fit 1965 Coronet.

If you go on Summit, a guy left a review of the pan saying it fit his ‘65 Coronet too.

Stock pickup is supposed to touch the pan. The design places the screen at the correct height. Aftermarket with the screen at the lowest point obviously can't touch.
I wanted to share this info in case it saves anyone some time and money, I searched for a while when putting together a 440 for a 65 SAT and never got a definitive answer.
The 440 source 6 qt hemi pan DOES NOT FIT. It doesn't even come close.
Happy Holidays.
