I have a 62 Plymouth Belevedere, trying to figure out the motor mounts... I have 65 413 from a Chrysler. I bought upper engine brackets for a 62 Plymouth BB, they bolt up fine, I have the lower mounts that came with the car, it had a 383 in it prior to this, I bought it with no engine. I got new insulators today but can seem to find the combination that bolts up.... passenger side or right side looked fine, but the left side was close but not right, I could have elongated The hole on the engine bracket or The lower mount too make it fit. The insulators have a hole and a raised tab as most do but every combination I tried did not work... Does anyone have any ideas ???? One insulator is marked 2227 the other is marked 8 RC looking up others on ebay I see 2227 & 2228. the engine brackets don't line up with the tab or raised button unless they are upside down, then obviously they don't bolt to the engine in that orientation.

looking at your pictures the tab only lines up if I put 2227 on the right side ??

There are differences between the two. The 2227 goes on the right side (passenger).

This is why I made sure to take pictures. The left and right side motor brackets are different also. See the kink in the driver's side bracket. The passenger side bracket is flat.

The insulator I have does not appear to be the same as the one you have pictured.... must be the problem...

Just wanted to thank you again !! bolted her up today, everything fitted perfectly !!

That's great to hear. I was lucky that those brackets and mounts are used for many applications and I actually used the original ones from the 361 that was on the engine for the 440 that was installed. The brackets are a little odd looking the way they made them and figuring out how they suppose to be orientated could be confusing.

Happy Motoring!
