63 Dodge 440 Fender Tag Question

Hey,

I know these question's have been posted many time's....but not by me, so here goes...

Is anyone able to help with my fender tag break down...???

On the alphabet line:

A J M Y
2 5 3 ? (unreadable, doesn't look like a digit. what would Y indicate?)

Below that:

SQ: 0624. (June 24th)

NUMBER: 1001. (should this match the production number on the VIN?....it doesn't...)

BDY: 666. (spooky)
6 = Dodge V8
6 = 440 Wagon
6 = ???? (I read somewhere BDY is usually the first 3 digits of the
VIN...is that correct??...i hope not !!!)

TRM: 621. Light Blue

PNT: CCCD. CC=Light Blue. CD = ????


Vehicle was produced at the Hamtramck, MI assembly plant.

If anyone can shed more light i'd certainly appreciate it.

A/2 = transmission = automatic
J/5 = heater with defroster
M/3 = unknown
Y/? = sales and delivery code. A '2' would be common meaning sold car/expedite meaning somone ordered it and was waiting for delivery.

No. It's the sales order number and should match the body numbers.

BDY: 666. (spooky)

No the last 6 = two seat wagon as opposed to a 7 meaning three seat wagon

TRM: 621. Light Blue

621= interior trim code = vinyl bench seat in blue

PNT: CCCD. CC=Light Blue. CD = ????

I can't remember. Doesn't this model year have a colored side sweep? If yes, then this would indicate the color of the inserts. The first two colors, CC, indicate the roof and body were painted light blue, the third C indicates the inner upper door frame was painted blue to match the interior trim and the D, medium blue, would be the color of a side sweep.

The date and the order number should be stamped on the drivers side upper radiator support. That number should match what is on the fender tag. I will get the a[phabet codes and post them

Whereabouts did you find the information. I've been scouring the net and could only find the VIN decode.
I'll post some pics when I get her home.

Galen Govier's "White Books" have these answers. You can buy them off of his website Galen's Tag Service or GTS.com. I have also seen them on Ebay used.

I have them because Galen authenticated my car and I bought Darrell Davis's Dodge Max Wedge book which lists all the cars by VIN and how to decode them.
