My 63 Savoy been setting in the garage for 46 years in parts. For two month December and January a lot of thing happened so it's time to work on my max wedge car and engine out. So sum pictures of a STD engine parts of the short going back together this week. Like the partial painted valve cover blocked by the cross ram.

This is the real thing. 4800 miles on the engine. Will add more photo all week. Going back all stock.

Stock, what's that? Nobody goes back stock. Lol. Awesome project though. Cool that you have had it for so many years.
 
I never realized how unique the Max Wedges were until I got involved in a friend's 318 Poly to 426 Max Wedge project. Very cool engines...

I would like to install the original .509 cam to see if the car could run a 11:70 or 11:80 with today tires and starting pads. My friend all say on able to install OEM cam but a 11:90 run all stock car? Chrysler built 2000+ Max Wedge car in 63.

If someone I knew back in the 70s 80s Robert Hickman Bobby in Riverside Ca. the car would go 11:50 off the trailer a god with big block mopar. A week or 2 after I bought the car I stop by Bobby house he showed me a aluminum front end complate for $600.00 boy did screw up not buying at.
 
Proper gears and converter should make it happen.
We have a fellow at our track that runs a stock 62, right around 12.50. But you tell it could use more gear.
 
3800 converter 4.30 or 4.56 gear HEE YAH. This may remind me of my 67 Hemi R/T. I may cheat a little with a set caltracs.
 
No ideal what this is about.
