Has anybody here done the 64 330/440 RB swap? My Dodge 440 started life with a 318 but will soon be outfitted with a 440 RB block. What I would like to know is the clearance from the front of the accessories to the radiator support, I would get it myself but the car is at the body shop right now and time is getting tight and I need to order up a radiator.

For extra info I went with the Schumacher poly-locs on my stock K-member.

Thanks for the help!

Ok maybe I should just ask if I would have enough space to drop in a Wizard radiator/shroud combo that is 6" thick?

I measure 6 1/2" from the front of the stock water pump pulley to the core support. 8" from the front of the alternator to the core support on my '63 330 with factory mounts, insulators and K-frame.

Oh yeah, it's a 440 with a 440source aluminum water pump and housing if that matters.

you should be ok if you run the fixed 7 blade from the 318. getting a clutch fan in there might be a challenge.

Early B body clearance is very limited. If the motor is in the stock location your lucky to get a fan with no clutch and a stock radiator. You'll notice that the core support if even notched and the factory rad is soldered in the brackets at an angle. Two solutions. Move the motor back on a later K-frame. Put the radiator in front of the core support. My son did that with his 62 Turbo Savoy. You lose the hood latch support so pins are required. It does fit well though, fan is inside the core support.

Thanks Guys, Sounds like it might fit. The fan/shroud/radiator combo is supposed to be ~6 inches thick.

You're right dvw, things are very tight however it can be done. the "wild card" to me in your install HM, is the schumacher mounts. whenever you bolt "parts upon parts or adaptors" it changes the dimensions and clearance. here is a previous thread re; your question. hope it all works out for ya...

Thanks 2059, I'll try to remember to post pics to this thread of the install. Should be happening in the next month or so.
