I have a 4 speed pedal assembly from a 65 (supposedly) B Body ready to install into my 64 Polara. The connecting pedals bracket seems upside down (bent down and not up) and interferes with the steering column support bracket. Is the column support bracket from an automatic different from a manual shift?

From searches on this site it seems that the column bracket installs between the plate and the brake pedal housing and not on top - either way, I have an issue. Thoughts please.

I have a 65 set up collecting dust from my build, I ended end buy a recon set from another member that was a good deal.

I am east of Syracuse NY

In both the 62 and 64 FSMs and this piece turns down in the pics, no distinction between V8 or 6, 3 or 4 speed.
Mine turns up and fits fine in my 62.
No idea why some turn down.

I asked in a few threads, no one seems to know why some turn up, others down:
62, 63, 64, 65 Clutch Pedal Assembly, differences?
I scratched my head on this issue, and came up with this simple fix. I cut the down curved edge off and flipped the edge facing up and welded it - looks almost factory now.
