64 Dodge question

Question guys. Picked up 64 330 sedan parts car. Has three tail lights per side instead of two. Thought 330's all were two per side. Was three per an option for that model or was it like alot of mopars where you could order just about anything you wanted and they would oblige. All lights are red. No back up lights
 
Maybe somebody added them like they used to do on 2nd gen Corvettes?
 
Dick Landy would do this because he liked the looks of three lights. Don't remember if he ordered them that way or bought extra ones and installed them himself. Is your center one a backup light or red?

Usa made or canadian made it makes a difference.
 
Bearman is correct. A member from Canada started a post here a week to 10 days ago about a 64 Dodge that he had recently purchased. To us in the USA the trim on the car said Dodge 330 but it had the 3 per side taillights like the Polara.

The Canadian Polara’s were built slightly differently than their US counterparts.
 
Does the dash board have round gauges or the slide type. The round gauges were on the Canadian version. Slide type usa made.
 
I wonder if I can do that with the 440 model. It only has two lights in the back.
Shouldn't be a problem! Get 2 more lights and sockets with enough wire to tie into the stock harness, cut holes in the tail panel and there you have it! Make a templet from one of the original holes to cut the new holes for the housings!
 
I agree be it more to the wiring than just splicing into it. To make the lights work like that must be a relay or flasher. I could just do the 66t bird or cougar deal. To make it work. But I only have two lights so I'm probably going to leave it that way.
 
Another Canadian car thing was stainless stone guards on the front of the rear wheel openings.

It's not all that hard to do. I used this kit (three light system) on mine. They have two and four light systems as well.

I've worked on the ford sequential turn signal units before. It's a crazy looking unit with a motor and contacts, all mechanical. I like the idea of the newer electronic setup like Centerline posted.
 
Here's what the units look like. One for each side. They work with LED lights as well as standard. About the size of a fifty cent piece and maybe four inches long. Very easy to wire too.
