I believe that NAPA sells a replacement unit. I think that you can find info about it on the 62-65 Mopar site.

I've seen some NOS peices on eBay, but the price was waaaaaaay more than I would spend. I'd imagine the NOS plastic could be brittle by now too.

You can fix yours. Buy some brass tubing at the hardware / hobby store the same size as the plastic tubes, drill the plastic out and press the brass in with a little epoxy. That's what I did with mine and it works just fine and will last a long time.

Also I remember someone was making an aftermarket replacement out of aluminum but I can't find who that was now.

If you can't find a new switch......Anthony Powell, 1305 North Grant Dr., Sherman Texas 75092 rebuilds these vacuum switches. His email address is [email protected]. Tell him that you saw his ad on the vendors section of the 62-65 Mopar site.

According to the guys on the 62-65 Mopar site, NAPA sells a replacement switch. Part number is NAPA-Echlin HC205

It has five buttons instead of four. It is like the one Histoy told me about at napa. I think it will work, so I hit the buy it now. Thank you, and good eye. Has any one used the five button in place of a four?

I just had Anthony Powell rebuild my heater switch (same part number as you list) and its great. I believe its much stronger and better than the original item. Just send him your switch and he will reconstruct it. The seven vacuum ports are replaced with a new port plate made from much stronger material than the original. I sent him my old one and he charged me $55 to do the job. I had it back in a few days and I'm in Calif. check these photos to see one he rebuilt. http://www.picturetrail.com/sfx/album/view/5749114

Someone has already posted his contact information here.

The 5 button is for an A/C car ... might work though ...

Nope, from 65 back all were 4 button. With A/C there were five terminals, the two extra were for the A/C compressor.

That's what happens when you get old and try to use your memory rather than going out to the garage and looking at it!

as other have said; Anthoney Powell is the way to go. Reasonably priced, good turn time, great quality. Plus you know it will fit and function correctly. Mine did.

just looked at the orig date of this thread... gotta believe it's long been taken care of....
