Hello Mopar fans,
I have an opporunity to buy my first early 60's mopar. I like to think I am fairly knowledgeable with 68-72 b-bodies but the earlier stuff I have a lot t learn about. The car is a 64 Polara 500 convertible that has been in storage for about 30 years. The car has a 67 383, push button automatic, power top, power steering car. It comes with a ton of extra parts, everything I need to make the car awesome, but with one really big catch. The fender tag, VIN, and the upper bar of the core support has been cut out the length of the radiator. The owner has a title from 1990 but I am hesitant because the VIN is missing? Is there any where else I can ID the car? I have read a few things about SO numbers on the package tray on hardtops and coupe's but what about convertibles? Any advice? Should I walk or take the chance?
