Tks for reply, I mounted the out side sweeps ok. But the inside ones that go on the door panel i'm having an issue with. The ones I took Off were screwed on with small screws and the new ones have metal clips on them. there were no holes on the panel that the clips would line up with so I tried drilling a hole and install the clips but the clips wouldn't go in so I drilled the holes 1/64" bigger and now they woill not stay in.
My 65 had factory staples...
I have the new seals for the inners...not sure if there are clips on them or not...If so I think I'd remove the clips and install them with very small aluminum rivets...
I also have new door panels that need to be installed over the metal tops before I have to cross this threshold...all in good time...
For the 64 to 65 B-Body hardtop applications, the inner felts could either be a flat bead or a round bead. But either style was attached in the same fashion with the staples through the upper panel. It sounds to me as if someone has already swapped out the inners at some point in the past. Does that particular inner sweep match up with the other three in style and how were the other three inners attached?
I have no ideal on what brand of felts that your attempting to install, but I do know that we have mistakenly placed a wrong felt in a set. Does the other front door felt match up with the other incorrect inner felt? If you can post, email or text a picture, I can possibly see what type of window felt that you are dealing with.
Thanks guys. I have the set from Dante's. I called them and they said there is usually holes for their wiskers in the door panel for their metal clips to fit in. They said to drill holes for them to work. I tried that and found the hole was either to large or to small. I think I will remove the metal clips and pop rivet them on.
Thanks for the imput and you all have a great holiday season. God Bless
