64 Tail lights for what trim level?

Malex what blue is that. Today i was talking to couple of gesr heads and they ask me what i was building so i told them it was a 1964 440. Just the look on there faces told me they didn't have a clue what kind of car it was. But really blew me away os one of them ask me what i was going to put it in. So i did what i had to do and i told them it was going into a 440. Conversation was over st that point but of you tell everybody it's a polara they yep nice car.go figure

On the Polara 500 I narrowed the rear a little. Seems 1.5 to 2" a side. I had a 3.5 back space I seem to recall.

I had narrowed that rear end some. Around 1.5 per side or so and I ran a 15 X 8 rim with a 3.5" back space. The tubs were stock but I moved the leafs closer to the frame.
On the 64 Polara 4-door look close at the rear rim bolt pattern. That was a Swinger rear housing and its got the small bolt pattern. It was narrower as well. It was a budget build in the 80's.
That blue on the Polara 500 is from a 1993 GM half ton. teal blue. That was the year I painted it and spotted the colour driving through a GM lot. It has a pearl in it and pictures can show green or blue. Deadly colour.

Here is a two owner 1964 330 sedan that is owned by an 86 year old friend of mine. His uncle bought it brand new, currently has just over 30,000 miles. Was a /6 automatic originally. He wanted to upgrade the drivetrain, now has 440 HP w/727 pushbutton, ‘65 rear axle with 3:73 Suregrip, dual exhaust and power disc brakes up front. I also added the 15” Mirada wheels. Interior is all original and very good condition.
To the left and right of the lisence plate are the reverse lights. The lisence plate light is above plate- which is same for all VD1-2 models.

That is one nice Dodge! And the wheels look excellent. I was surprized to see those reverse lights. I cannot remember ever seeing those and I will chalk it up to old age and forgetfulness.

When I was 16 all I could afford was the 330 model 4 doors. I preferred the 440 trim over the single - then, not now.

My 64 Plymouth is a Belvedere and I added a touch of Fury to the rear.

Same with the GTX. I saved the NHRA decal that was on the back window too. The X frequented the tracks when it was new, decal is from then, still there in patina. I also left the Hooker Headers decal on that the owner (or someone) placed on the heater box front. It's like new and close to 50 years old.

Well to drag this out alittle more my 440 does have a license plate light but does not have the back up lights period. Maybe that makes mine one of a kind lol

Ok good info going to do the cut on the axles 1.5 inches on both sides. Also going to do the disc brake thing in the rear. My springs already been moved in so that is one part that is done. Will measure from backing plate to backing plate with your sheet to see what it is. If not the right size it will get it cut down or see what a dana would cost.

It seems that reverse lights on a 330 or 440 had to be an option. My very first Dodge was a 318 with a 3 speed standard. I broke many transmissions (and fried a couple of clutches too). I never noticed any sort of backup switch anywhere, or lights on the rear of that car for that matter. CDN cars. In a 3 on the tree application I can't imagine where the reverse switch would have been.

Yep i totally agree when i was trying to figure out the paint code on my car it was or could have been used as a taxi cab or something from a fleet type car. I really believe after all the different things i have read options in those days where a big deal. Look already had 330 440 500 and the polara as the models and everything from a 6 bagger up to 426 hemi and to even had 3speed 4 speed and push button auto. So now all you need to do is pick the trim package and then the dealership will sale you what you wanted. Just my thoughts

Im also thinking your model is the same thing. You could buy a stock or 1 and or a 2 bev and fury. Do you have a option list for that ride not that you need one with that beautiful car. The option you have done with it should have been done back in the day.

Ok i have a trim piece where the license plate sets in. Bull1tt car in the picture doesn't show that but i know that when i had the 500 i had the same trim piece in the rear slso.

yeah, on a Polara or Polara 500. As we have been saying... but not 330 or 440.
Look at the parts book pics posted. It explains it

Yours is a Polara trim which also had the 3 light assembly! The 500 trim is the top level with bucket seats, console and upper trim level!

well engine will be done in 15 more days. starting putting pricing together for frame connectors. have ss springs on rear and working on engine bay which will be taking awhile to get done. plans are to remove shock towers have made my own and will not need the old ones. that way can finish fenderwells with a smooth look not to mention a little more room. then cutting up front k member for the same reason more room. on some other post some of the other guys have already done this and looks great. up in the air about steering gear right now but leaning to the 14 to 1 gear box.
