65 AWB A/FX build

I haven't...The only thing I see there that I could have used would have been the trunk extension drop offs...If you utilize those you'll still need to add in for the forward relocation. I made all of my panels myself. I wasn't trying to build something that looked original. There are better ways to cut those cars and build one than the .4807 manual indicates.

Fiberglass Plus molds were gone many years ago. My altered wheelbase fender molds were made from metal fenders that I had modified and I still own them also. For those who are interested, we have package deals which seem to be selling better than the separate piece deals right now. Business is good.

Larry, Will you be at the Indy Meet on March 3 & 4?
I'd like to get a Hemi scoop from you at that time.
Thanks, Scott

I know all 12 AWB cars were all 'hard tops' that were acid-dipped, actually 11 cars, one was a test mule for Chrysler, then added fiberglass hood, very thin fiberglass 'sedan' doors, glass deck lid & front bumper, plexiglass fixed windows, and kept the steel rear bumper for weight transfer which was 56% toward the rear. Wheel wells were patched & sectioned after wheelbase being moved forward. Weight 2800lbs.
Inside, they removed radio, heater, sun visors, rear seat, and carpet backing/insulation. Added a fiberglass dash and roll bar.
MY AWB has steel hood, glass scoop, carbon fiber front fenders, glass bumpers front & rear. Interior is original to the car with original door panels, headliner, the rear seat removed, radio & heater deleted, new buckets added, glass dash & roll cage.
These cars are awesome!
I say, do what makes you happy!

maybe he got shitty stuff from Larry like I did !!!

I'm hoping that was not aimed at me!
Just trying to find an excellent Hemi scoop for my '65 & I thought I'd add some info about what I've learned about factory AWB mopars.

maybe he got shitty stuff from Larry like I did !!!
Did Larry do right by you in any way to correct what you bought? I have never done biz with him but have seen his products on friends cars for 30 years. I post on several mopar sites as well as Larry.I am also friends with Mr. Fiberglass that used to make glass products as well.
So if you guys can tell me that you received sub-par product and Larry did not rectify the situation,or made his best attempt to satisfy you than I'm corrected.Anything further on this, start a new thread or PM me.
Did not want to hyjack OPs thread:)

Wow! I thought Sled City was good. No?
Hello eightstackhemi. I have been in business for almost 30 years and yes there are one or two, maybe three haters out there . If there is a problem , we try to make the customer satisfied. Three unsatisfied customers in almost 30 years isn't too bad. If you are looking for a Hemi or max wedge scoop, we make different sizes of each and they all have studs hanging down for e-z mounting. Give me a call anytime from 10am-10pm 7 days a week. If for some reason that I don't answer, I will call you back that day, as long as your number comes through on my screen. 1-614-875-0369

The original & only other owner before me of my '65 A/FX still lives in Brea, CA. He built the car as an AWB 'tribute' at his business 'Westar Performance' and he got his Hemi scoop, bumpers, & carbon fiber front fenders from 'Fiberglass Plus' back in early 2000's. Now, they are defunct as many folks know. Being able to still build these and get some of the appropriate parts is a major plus. May this hobby go on forever! Yahoo!!
OH!.......and IF my information is correct, the original AWB cars had lightweight 'Stainless Steel' K-members bolted to the frame rails 10" forward, rather using than the original steel counterparts, too! Now, that's cool!

well newbie wanna be moderator ?? maybe you shouldn't concern yourself with other peoples business & just worry about keeping your post count high!!!

Got all my fiberglass parts from sled city. Parts look good and the quality is fine. Starting to trial fit parts. Does anyone know on the original AFX cars did Chrysler dip prime the acid dipped bodies or did they just paint the whole body white including the bottom of the car body color after getting them back from Amblewagon?
