65 Converstion to later trans - Lever questions

Hey guys. I'm posting this here in the 66-up area because I converted my 65 Belvedere to lever shift transmission. I got a column and most all linkage out of a 66 car. All parts came from a 66 except for the shift lever on the trans; that piece came off of a 340 challenger but I have no idea whether it was column or floor shift. My shift lever at the trans looks like the upper one in the pic below. In another thread, where this pic originally is, the author says

Generally, a 727 shifter lever is straight and a 904 is offset (though some applications have different length of levers to compensate for vehicle model/engine combinations).
727 on top, 904 on bottom

So the trans is in and linkage is all smooth and working well except that the indicator on the column is off at one end or the other. If I adjust the column indicator to be correct in park, it's about 1/3 to the right of the 2. If I align it against the column stop between D & 2, it doesn't really get to park position.

I should say that the 66 up column has no detents in it, but it does have the gate to prevent certain moves. I say this because the detents I feel in the lever are the real valve body detents so I'm sure what gear position I'm in.

So the question is, what trans shift lever does a 66 b-body have? Or are there different length levers available? It seems to me that my car would want a slightly longer lever. Any input would be appreciated.

Just grabbed a few shots from a 66 Plymouth manual. It shows a curved lever:

The manual is slightly unclear on which trans/engine the view is.

So the next question: Anyone have a curved lever lying in a drawer somewhere?
