65 Coronet question about trunk latch

The trunk latch in my 65 Coronet 500 has been repaired at some point in time by a real wizard. It looks like the welded in angle brackets over top some rusted out supports. The trun latches fine but as I was looking at removing and rebuilding this thing I noticed the latch platform is not level, it has a slight tilt to it. Can someone take a look at theirs and see if it tilts back in towards the trunk or is it supposed to be level?

I finally re-located this thread.
The latch is mounted on a level platform.

Thanks for checking, that would make sense to me as well. This is really a crappy job at a repair. They even used wood screws to hold the brass L brackets on
