What's your starting point? I mean, do you want original or "mod"? If you want original, than this is way too expensive. If you want "mod", what amount of money was spent to "mod" the car and is/was it worth it? Do you like it as it is now?

Nevertheless...apart from the "Chrevolized" engine bay, the car looks great.

Good luck hunting!!

Note: the heater doesn't work! :)

I'm not looking for a completely stock car. I'd like it "hot-rodded" but tastefully done that it doesn't hurt the collectability or value.

The valve covers and air cleaner cover have to be changed out to a Mopar cover.

Will I need to upgrade the brakes?

How much to get the heater reconnected (assuming the owner doesn't have the parts)?

Do I need power steering? If so, how much will it cost?

Questions........

I would think that a car priced at the level this one is priced at would already have a brake upgrade... functional heating system..... suspension upgrades.... etc.

My guess is that this car was assembled by a body/paint guy with little attention paid to the mechanical aspect or authenticity for the reason of "flipping" it for a profit. Likely not a mopar guy either....

It also sounds like you will likely have the work performed by a shop somewhere.... If this is the case a brake upgrade.... addition of P/S and fixing the heater could run upwards of an additional $4500./5000.00. Add that to the needed (500)trim pieces and your approching $8500.00......!

I can see you like the car but it's just not a good investment. If it's a passion thing..... go for it, but don't expect a full return on your investment if it has to go.

Nice car but I think the price is high. Check ebay or other online auctions. $20K will buy alot of car. But it does not take long to drop $20K on a car if you have the work done in a shop. I got $18,000 in my '63 and I did most of the work myself...$10K in motor/trans/dana. It's your call...and money. Let us know
