I think that’s only the second time I’ve ever seen a 426 Street Wedge car with the correct exhaust heat shield on it. That’s a pretty amazing car.

The heat shield is located where the header pipe and manifold bolt together on the pass. side! If it's not here some one removed it!

It truly is an amazing car and I’m so thankful the stars aligned, it’s literally a dream come true! She spent the last 30 years in a private museum, those tires are from 1987 if you can believe that.

I’m trying to keep it as stock as I can, as long as I can, with the exception of a few safety items. We upgraded to a 1967 dual master cylinder when we updated the brake system. I also added rear seat belts because that’s where my kids ride.

I’ll be sure to post updates as they’re completed such as when I mount my newly ceramic coated exhaust manifolds.

Here's my old 65. Still needs a lot of work but money and time get in the way. Finally got in on the road about 13 months ago. It has a 68 440HP in it from when I bought it about 9 years ago, appears to have a purple cam in it. Runs pretty strong but it's worn out. Did a disc brake conversion on the front and some QA1 suspension. The rear has old superstock spring and a suregrip 3:23. My brother narrowed it to fit the Weld wheels and put in thick Strange axles and 11" drum brakes that he had in his stash. My brother and I are talking about putting a stroker motor together soon. Lots of work ahead.

I am looking for THAT shield for my 64 426! I have the drivers side heat shield. It is amazing how much heat these exhaust manifolds retain! Everything under hood gets HOT!

I actually removed my drivers side manifold today to bead blast it since in place cleaning and re- coating failed to work. I also cleaned up the heat shield as well.

Make a pattern out of paper so if somebody to make one. Send them a copy of your so have for more people. Wonder if folded the opposite way might work on passengers side?
