I have a 65 Plymouth Satellite and would like to know if I could change the front drum brakes to disc with a 73 A-body complete assembly (front discs: spindles, calipers and rotors).

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

welcome to the site,it is a bolt on deal, you can use your original a-frame's as far as I REMEMBER.

I converted my 66 belvedere to disk brakes and they work great. Here's a good link to read
http://www.moparaction.com/tech/archive/disc-main.html

The only part that isn't correct is the part about not using spindles 73-up B and F/J/M/R-body cars. I used these spindles a couple of times and they work great.

You can do a search on disk brakes on this site and you will find a lot of info about this subject.

I am doing that now on my '63 Fury. I bought a kit from Speedway for about $400.00 that had everything but the master. I got that for a '72 Fury at NAPA for $28.00.
I am in the process of replacing the lower ball joints but I should have it all done later this week. By the way, the kit included the spindles bearings and all and it's new. I also bought a proportioning valve from Jegs for the rear brakes. I will mount that near the master. On my car all the brake lines came to a tee near the drivers side cut out above the frame. All I need is 2 90's and new lines up to the master and I'm done.
The mopar action article spells it all out.

That Speedway kit is a pretty good deal for what you get! It's getting harder and harder to find a-body disc spindles (the only part you really can't get at the parts store).

I wanted weight reduction so I went with the Wilwood Pro-street kit.

It was a little more spendy but uses the existing drum spindles.

Thanks for your input. I'm going to go ahead and purchase the used complete 73 A-body spindles, rotors and calipers and see if they bolt up to the 65 B-body.
