65 Plymouth Satellite Rear End Options

You're right. I was thinking his car was a '64. Same question if its a '65 though.... for a street car, why replace the 8.75??
For anyone interested: for an economical rear brake upgrade go to a mid 80s Fifth ave. or Fury cop car rear drum setup. Beefy fined drum w/10 X 2 1/2 shoes and more modern hdwe. Be sure to get the backing plates. I have them on 8 3/4 rears in 75 Duster and 65 Ply. I also have 11" setup from 82 van and plan on checking fitment sometime. They came off of an 8 1/4 rear.

If you use the '65 and newer drum (Napa # ND 4401129) as stated in my article it is also 10" x 2 1/2" and doesn't require you to change the backing plate. Same drum fits numerous other Dodge and Chrysler products.

Thx guys for the replys. My car is on a rotisserie and I thought about changing out the rear end only because I can get one easily and its already off. I will do the conversion on my original one regardless. More curious if swapping was a common practice against finding a puller etc.... I don't have access to a puller in my area.... what have you all been using ?

thx

There are puller kits you can rent at rental centers and cheap ones can be purchased if you want to save money. I bought a cheap kit that's worked fine for me, just not something that will be durable with frequent use which I might use once a year or so. If it get's trashed not a big loss.
