Is there a "correct kit" for moving the battery to the trunk or do i just wire it up? Is there a correct side, drivers or passenger?

I think most people put the battery over the passenger rear wheel, put it inside a box with a vent (fyi- you can guy a battery box at O'Reilly) and run welding cable up front. I've never done it, so don't just take my word on it.

Why do you want to do this?

I relocated the battery in my '65 like the A990 cars. No kit. Used welding cables, terminals, and master shut off switch. Goes on the passenger side. Wire the alternator into the shut off switch. I have a terminal block under the hood.

Ahh, now I see, said the blind man............................ as he picked up his hammer and saw.

Don't put a hole in your gas tank if you bolt/screw it down. Welding it down with gas tank in car could be a problem.

I'm thinking if i put it over the passenger side wheel well it should miss the tank no matter what would happen but thank you for the warning! The whole fuel system is getting replaced, original style tank with a newly welded in sump, fuel lines about the same size as garden hoses, and a pump that rivals most home sump pumps! It's going to be a slow build but when it's done it'll be crazy power, I hope... thanks for all the answers and help guys!

Do you still have a back seat? I like to put the weight as close to the middle of the car as possible.

All good info: You can buy all the wiring components from Del City Wiring at pretty good prices. Summit or Jegs have the box.

I do still have the back seat. See, I'm fighting 2 wars with this car (i know, I'll never win either) on one hand I love the original style (hence the original question) and on the other hand I want all the power i can imagine. We just put a ton of money into redoing the interior last winter and it came out awesome, love it when people say "is it original?" And then I love to smoke anything that pulls up next to me on the street... Kinda a car that I dream of the best of both worlds with...
