Hi,
66 Charger 383 auto
Starting my restoration and was wondering what route to take to upgrade my brakes.
I have a 69 383 4 speed I just did the disc o tech upgrade with, but as you know the 66 has the single circuit brake setup.
Should I just replumb it to a 68-69 set up, and do another disk o tech, or go with an after market brake kit ?
Thanks in advance.

You will need a new Master Cylinder for the disc brakes anyway, the disco-tech is a great way to go, I would plumb accordingly and enjoy the new brakes.

Well, I typed this up and then wondered exactly what you have already done.

I just did a 67.
I replaced all the lines though.
Here is what you will need to not spend 1200 on a new system.

You can bend your own new lines with blank stock from Advance and a double flair tool.
Reuse the old spring protectors for the new lines. Wire wheel the rust off of them if necessary.
I used a combination block from a 70 something disk brake A body.
I haven't tried that yet on the road, but you could just go with an adjustable proportioning valve.
Most would probably recommend that anyway.
You also need the disk spindles off of that A body. Or an F body.

There is a big debate about this. You be the judge.

I had to swap the spindle from side to side because the anti sway bar attach points on the LCA would not clear.
Be sure when you do this the bleed nipples are on the top.

Also the calipers off the A body or a F body which is what I used.
And the rotors. Junk yards are your friend on these. Good luck.
You will need flex lines for the disk off of a St. Regis IIRC.
Available anywhere. The have the banjo fittings you need.
You will also need this.

And an aluminum master cylinder off a 80s Dakota or something like that.
