Hi.
Just signed up as I was refered to this website by the guys at PST.
Thought I would introduce my car and I.
My name is Steve and I imported my 66 Coronet a year and a half ago from a really nice guy in North Carolina.
It's always been a Cali car but he moved to NC 6 months before I bought it.
It came with the original Cali black plates and even the build sheet that was stuffed behind the seat at the factory.
I have all the receipts for the car since it was rebuilt back in 93.
I was having wheel alignment issues (excessive +ve camber after acceleration) which would then return to normal if you braked hard. I was led to believe it would be the Lower control arm bushings so I am currently in the process of rebuilding the front end with a PST kit. (any tips appreciated!)
Haven't driven her for 6 weeks now so keen to get it done!

Anyways, she runs a Hi-comp 440 with large cam .509" lift, 292/292 duration and holley 850dp. Kitted torque fllite and 8 3/4 with 3:23's (will change back to 4:11's any tips?) and some Mickey Thompson 29/12.5-15's on the rear.

Anyways, here are some pics.

Thanks!

you asked: unless gas is a lot cheaper there and you only cruise mainly urban, i would think 3:55 or 3:90 gears

No. Gas is definately cheaper over there! We just returned from Vegas a couple of weeks ago. I drive the car mainly on the street but I feel that the 3:23 gearing is too conservative for how the car is setup. Maybe 3:90's would be a bit better. I just want to get a bit of a better quarter mile time as well.

yea i know what you mean. the only track around here is 1/8th mile unless you drive for a couple of hours minimum. if you are going to be competitive on the 1/8th, your into 5:56 or 5:88's. trailering. no thanks. good luck on your choice but, "it is still a very nice car".
