66 Satellite Wheels

I recently put some used 235/70/15 on the back of my 66. The car hasn't been on the street yet and had rotted 225/70/15. the clearance with the 235's seems a bit suspect. Will new air shocks solve the problem or will these tires simply not work? Appreciate some good input. Thanks.

That tire size should have ample clearance...depending on the dimensions of the wheel used. You didn't mention the wheel specs (wheel width and backspacing).

I have that tire on my 66 Bel on factory 15x7 Cordoba wheels and they fit perfectly. Here it is with sagging original rear springs.

Oh yeah, back space is either 4.25" or 4.5".

I have 235 15 on 6.5" rallyes, 225 15 on 7" steelies, and 235 14 on 7" Ford magnum sets for my 66 and they are all fine.
