How is one suppose to actually get these sway bar bushings out and back in place under the plates? These brackets are a bit ridiculous. Should I torch them out since they are petrified? Or does anyone have any tricks they'd like to share? lol Thanks
Definitely use a lubricant which should be in the kit with the rubber/poly bushing and on the bar, When putting them back together I found it very helpful to slightly grind down and knock off just a little bit of the corner on inner edge of the bracket itself on the side that you're going to install the rubber in which makes insulation a lot easier and I use waterpump pliers to press them in
If you have a welder here's another approach. Grind away the weld, peel open, insert new bushing. Weld back together. Rinse, repeat for the other side.
Thanks 69 runner, that's exactly what I did to get them back in, had to drill them out and one was bent up bad so cutting, correcting and re-welding worked. Bushing got a little hot, but nothing works better than this trick in my opinion. Don't know why I didn't think about doing it myself. Thanks again!
