just got my 2.5 in tti tailpies for my 1966 coronet 2dr sedan. just started looking ariund under the back and I dont see how the hangers for the tailpies should mount. no holes on the out side of the frame that small for the bolt. and no they are not rusted. can any one point me in the right direction. just trying to get an idea of what to do and not do so this does not get dragged out.

They are different than factory.

Not at home right now to reference the hardcopy, but I think it's in the diagram on the TTI site.

I am currently going through a similar situation with my 66 Ply Sat project. I also have the TTI 2.5 inch set up from manifolds to rear. I also am missing the frame rail holes as you are. So what I did was to utilize the frame rail holes for the stock tail pip hangers and engineered hangers to fit on the tail pipes using a common tube clamp. Works well and the exhaust is solidly hung. I have pics but the camera is over at the shop where I am working in the car. The other option is to weld a bolt/stud to the frame rail and then use the TTI hangers which is most likely the next step in my install. Even though the exhaust system is excellent in its design, the 66/67 B Body cars usually do not have the bolt holes and TTI cannot explain to me what the solution is and why they do not mention that in their instructions. But where there is a will there is a way to get that system hung properly in the rear. Good Luck on yours and look for pics on this in a few days....

yes their instructions speak of working from back to front but how can you tell if the tailpipe is in the right spot if you do not have specific locations for the rear hanger mounts. I just dont want to dent or damage my new pipes because i place them to far forward or rearward beacause it is up to me.

I have 3" TTI's on my 66 Bel and found myself in a similar predicament when installing my exhaust. I noticed in the rear frame there are some holes to fit one of those clip nut things, where the factory single exhaust was, but it didn't align directly above the TTI tail pipe so I just made my own hanger support. I'll try to remember to post a pic, or just PM me.

I had to drill holes in the frame rails to mount my TTI 3" on my '67 Charger. A 66' Coronet, I think, is the same setup. I had to supply my own bolts too since what they sent didn't seem to work. You'd think it would be more of a bolt-in right? I guess not. Overall, not a big deal. There was plenty of adjustment vertically and front to back on the hangers they supplied.
