Checked to see if brake lights were working the other day and noticed that even though the turn signals work, the brake lights do not. Where should I start in trying to figure out where the problem is? Any common issues?

Check the ground in the trunk. Clean it and the area it makes contact with for starters. Could be the switch that attaches to the upper part of the brake pedal making poor contact or defective. Or lord knows the wiring is probably dry rotted and cracked and grounding out somewhere along the way...That is a standard feature on 40+ yr old Mopars.

Yup, like stated, check your grounds in back...If not that, check for power out of the brake switch towards the top of the brake pedal arm....If not that, check to see if there's power coming out from your turn signal switch for your brake lights.
