I just hooked up all the guages in my charger, and none of the guages work except for the amp guage and speedometer. The electro-luminesent part works decently, but none of the actual guages work. I am stumped on this one.

Again a 1967 Chrysler service manual will provide a lot of help especially here, the 66 & 67 Charger Dashes can drive one nuts repairing them.

None of the gauges work may be a ground problem or bad/loose voltage limiter. I can recall these dashes well, you get the gauge to light and the indicator needle won't light or vice versa or it lights fully and the gauge itself is bad geeesh!

This is one dash that should best be left to the professional dash restorer to do and just smile and pay the bill when he hands it to you.

They are truly incredible to see when they work right.

I've got a 66 I've been working with awhile. The gauges themselves work off of 5 volts and require a good ground. The 5 volts is normally supplied through the voltage limiter in the fuel gauge, which invariably goes bad. You can use an external limiter or digital, both work fine. As for the electroluminesence, The [email protected] has been great for me. Well priced and guarantees his work.

Hi, I'm Mark Gibson, the Gauge Doc.

I'd be happy to help, my website is www.thegaugedoc.com. More than likely the internal 5V points type limiter inside the fuel gauge has gone bad; when it does it sends 12V to the fuel, oil pressure, and temp gauges, burning the insulated nichrome wire that is wrapped around a bi metal strip attached to the gauge pointer. Gauges quit working as a result. My website has a diagram of a burned gauge and one I've repaired with new wire and calibrated. My phone number is also on my website, feel free to call anytime.

Also, your tach issue is most likely the board going bad inside your tach. I replace them with the solid state boards from Real Time Engineering. I also use their solid state voltage limiters, best out there as far as I'm concerned....
