I need to get some cooler air to my carb. I don't have overheating issues, but once the car is warmed through and the underhood area has its big warm pocket of air for the carb to suck at, it's a little less torquey.

I have found those custom fibre carb hats that let you attach hoses, but I can't figure out where I could route any hoses. My only options seem to be around in front of the radiator (via a hole in the core support, boo) or somehow from down in front of the engine behind where the sway bar runs. Neither of these seem too good to me.

Do I have any other options aside from messing with the hood?

on something like a 68 RR, for example;
Seen a few guys take out a headlight on each side {usually an inner bulbs} put in a dual hi-low beam in the outside, where the org. low beams usually are, use the inner hi-beam holes to route the tubes to the carb hat, to get cool fresh air...

depends on what year on what lites to change out & where to route the piping

kind of like the new Hellcats do, just not led stuff...

maybe from up front where the splash pan in-front, or under the sides of the radiator is too, either would get nice clean cool fresh air, they'd still need to be filtered if you run on the street or for dusty or rain etc., so you don't suck up rocks, sand, dirt, dust or rain...

or add a scoop 6bbl or S/S style to the hood & seal it off with an alum plate & some foam or rubber, to the carb pan, so you don't heat soak it, get fresh cool ram air effect too...
