67 coronet dash cluster lights

with your help i fixed my dash lights by changing the headlight switch.(now the headlights wont come on but ill figure that out)
my dash lights are weak and some are out.
can i change them without removing the cluster or should i just remove it?

Old post i know. What condition are the dash circuit boards in?

im not sure of the condition.
my dash lights are very dim and get brighter with rpm.
can i change them to led bulbs?they seem to just be one brightness and not afffected by rpm.

That's pretty common.

Could be an alternator or regulator issue but some "just do that".

What is your RPM at idle.

In D or out of gear?

That seems a little high for in gear.

I think mine is 900 out of gear and 750 in D.

My dash lights brighten just a bit up to about that 1000 number or just a bit higher. Not crazy though.

Cherokeechief, yes you can change out the bulbs for LED style.
superbrightleds.com is the place I get my LED's
Just be aware that some of the LED's are not able to be dimmed.

thanks is there enough voltage at idle to keep them lit though?
i put them in my chevies but the alternator seems to put out more at idle.
they dont dim either..if i try they just turn off at some point

LED's use very little wattage.
There should be more than enough voltage at idle to keep them bright.
Here is my buddies 1969 Dart I put the cool blue LED's in.

If the light are pulsing at idle, it may be a good idea to turn up the idle rpm a bit.
Either that or use one of those constant output voltage regulators, that will get rid of the pulsing.
