do anyone know what is the lenght of a rear end for my 67 coronet,it is missing the rear end and i need to find one to bring it home, will any b body 83/4 rear work i do not need for it to be posi right now,if anyone has one close to ga or any ideas on how to get rear rolling with casters<the springs are still attached to frame. thanks

66 and 67 8 3/4 is slightly narower than 68-70, although I think one would work in a pinch, provided your wheels and tires aren't too wide. 71 and up is way wider and spring mounts are in diferent places. Don't think that would work for you. Not sure about 65 and down, but these are kind of more rare and IIRC, some have funny drums that are pressed on. I think they also have a big nut like a front hub.

Those 66/77 wheel wells give you a pretty small window to work with. I'd try to find the correct year, so you're not starting at a disadvantage trying to find a wheel and tire combo that works.

The difference between the 66-67 and the 68-70 is so small that you won't notice a difference. On average, they are only about 1/2" shorter than the 68-70. The older rears have the tapered axles with the bolt on drum, hence the large nut. I have one from a 67 Coronet but I'm not real close to you either....but not that far. Might could work out something if you're not very far off of I-10 and there's always someone driving through.
