67 GTX power steering conversion HELP

Finally after pulling header and starter, got the steering gear in and behold! The Pittman arm to drag link is tapered backwards. WTF

Don't know if I need a different Pittman arm, or a different drag link
 
What was original to the car?
Did you change the steering gear box?
Don't hold me to it but changing standard steering to power steering might require different steering components too.
I've seen that, taper being on the wrong side, replacing a pitman arm years ago, just don't remember what it was anymore.
I know, I'm a lot of help. Maybe check part numbers for both power steering and standard.
 
thanks, i traded my old non ps unit, but i think i can retrieve it, and maybe just change the pitman arm?

I might be wrong but I think they have different splines. Worth a try. I'm thinking the link is different but you would have to look up the part. Power vs Standard

Let's see, I'm trying to remember since I did a similar swap going the other direction (manual to power). I "think" you need a different pitman arm because I definitely did not change my drag link.

I called a guy on eBay that had a drag link, he said they are the same
