I got past the hard part and found a pair of NOS red dot ANCO wiper refills for $59 for the pair. Not bad, even if the 50 year old box said suggested retail price was $6. Old rubber blades soft as can be. Have the red dot on both ends. The ones on the car when I got it only had the red dot on one end. The new ones also have a specific "this side down" imprinted in the end of the wind arm on top of the refill.

Now I realize I don't know the right wiper arm from the left. They are bayonette mounts, and one of the bayonette ends of the wiper arm is completely straight and one has a slight angle to it. Anyone know which is which and why they are made this way? Does the passenger side sit right at the bottom windshield chrome when parked (straight arm) and the driver side park slightly above it where they meet in the middle (slight angle arm)? That is the only thing I could come up with.

Thanks!

Uh nevermind. The wiper arms are the same and the bayonette ends are both slightly offset. It looks like they both sit right above the bottom windshield chrome an don't really overlap any. I use the high definition photos you can blow up at the RK Classics site to figure out the way some things are supposed to be. They may not be correct on a 289K car either, but if is good enough for a 289K car, it is good enough for mine.

RK Classics is nice enough to keep up detailed pictures of not only current inventory, but cars that have been sold as well. The under hood, undercarriage and interior pictures on their site have helped me many times.
