'67 satelleite rear axel misalignment

Hi, how big a deal is rear axle misalignment?
The rear wheels on one side of the car are closer to the front-edge of the rear arch than the other side. I don't know how much exactly, but it's noticeable on photos. I also got to talking to the past owner who confirmed this.

This is on a Satellite I'm interested in buying.

It looks like it might be camera angle more than anything else. Get actual measurements.

If it is true, it could be serious, you should figure out the actual problem you buy.

looks like the car had lower quarters put on. It could be from how they put them on and not an axle problem

Make sure differential housing is sitting on sping center bolt.

Best thing to do is have it put on an alignment machine. It will make all the measurements and you will see what the thrust angle is on the rear. Then you will know exactly what's up

A quick way to tell is to measure the wheel base on both sides. If it varies, put it on a frame machine for sure. Make sure the front wheels are dead straight ahead when you measure...

great suggestions...I'm not sure the seller will be up for me measuring the wheelbase. I'm thinking a quick test would be to see how many fingers fit between the wheel and the arch

body to wheel is not that big of a deal.its frame to wheel that you are worried about.couple quick measurment under the rear will tell the story.axle to front spring mount on both sides is a good place to start.if seller is against that,then move on.no telling what he is trying to hide at that point.
