Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but is it true that the 70 HP manifold on the passenger side has the headpipe flange in a different orientation and that may interfere with the shock tower on the early B's?
I once tried to mount a 70 HP passenger side manifold on my 68 Satellite and that was a PITA to install, but possible without raising the engine. I did not realize that the headpipe flange was different than the 68-69 versions until I cursed my way into getting the manifold on the engine.
Now, last weekend I had to raise the engine on the passenger side on my 64 wagon to install a 68 HP manifold. I can imagine with the 70 HP manifold the headpipe flange may interfere with the shock tower. I have not tried this in person, though (I could have, since I do have a 70 HP manifold laying around...)
