68-70 Charger/ How many inch apart rocker panels?

Im building charger with AMD panels on a jig. Im trying to get the perfect distance between the rockers top lip. One measurement across from the front of the rocker and one in the back near the rear wheels. My actual charger says 62 1/2” and when I measure that to my jig project my AMD torsion bar crossmember seems an inch short connecting the two. Lmk if anyone has anything!

If your AMD torsion bar cross member is anything like the one I bought then yea, it's short. I bought an AMD piece and when I saw how short it was I sent it back and found a nice original and it dropped right in. Also, the slugs that the torsion bars slide into were on different angles than the original cross member. After seeing the differences, I wanted nothing to do with that AMD piece.

When my 1970 Charger was being worked on by my body man, the torsion bar crossmember was rusting out at the ends. I bought a new one, almost certainly the AMD repop. Interestingly, my body man kept the center section of the crossmember and only welded in the end sections. Though this won't help your situation, I can understand why he did this instead of replacing the whole thing, as it wouldn't have fit properly. He told me "always keep as much of the original metal as possible".

If you have access to an undamaged original body, go by that. Don't go by reproduction sheet metal.

For reference, there are diagrams and (other) measurements in the following thread along with actual measurements I took from my '70 Charger. BTW, I used a plumb bob .
