Looking for ideas for my street/strip 1969 Coronet (Super Bee clone). It has already been mini tubbed, and I just put a fuel cell and electric pump in it. Please post pictures if you have any, of racing modifications (under the hood, interior, underneath). Any advice and or tips that worked for you would be well appreciated.

Thanks guys

Show us what you got for a starting point. I have been collecting parts for my project.

:iamwithstupid: some more info would be nice, what is your budget ?? what is the intended usage for this car ?? how much can you do yourself ?? do you have the knowledge & tools ??... Big Block or Small Block the formula is pretty much the same, there's no replacement for displacement... Perfromance 101...LOL... Aluminum replacing steel &/or Iron parts, a Hotter ignition like a CEI & orange {minimum} or chrome box & hotter coil, w/ultra low ohm resistance plug wires.... then to keep the carburetor full with more fuel from that new cell & electric pump, some Larger fuel lines {or sending unit w/stock tank} for a #6 A/N 3/8" minimum - #8 A/N 1/2" even better for a single 4bbl & #10-#12A/N for multiple carbs.... a better higher lift Camshaft or valvetrain appropriate for your compression & cylinder heads, higher ratio rockers like 1.6:1 adjustable, better proper length/style push rods, better flowing ported aluminum cylinder heads {gets 70 pounds off the front of the car & flow way better than stock, lighten the car & have better weight transfer too} & better flowing/performance style Holley type carburetor.... X-treem K&N Gauze air cleaner/filter.... better aluminum intake manifold change.... better larger exhaust w/either an X or H pipe &/or properly sized headers.... some subframe connectors.... a bypass style fuel regulator with a return line back to the fuel tank {keeps fuel bowls full & the fuel cooler, avoids vapor locking & fuel boiling}.... some slicks or sticky drag radials & some CalTracs are also a great idea or some other traction aid devises, with some good adjustable shocks.... lighten the car where ever possible, with some fiberglass, hood, doors, trunk lid & bumpers, lighter weight seats, lighter stronger drive shaft.... a driveline safety loop.... light weight racing wheels & tires.... a roll bar to help stiffen the car.... tubular upper & lower control arms {much more adjustable}.... move the battery to the passenger side rear of the trunk w/a saftey on/off switch {great for weight transfer}, add a solid piece of aluminum panel to seprerate the trunk area from the interior.... a rear gear change to a steaper gear, like a 3.73:1-3.91-4.10-4.30:1 etc. depending on what tire size & what it's going to be used for a street/strip or strickly drag car.... if it's an automatic trans car a much looser TQ converter {depends on wieght, camshaft & gearing 3500-4500rpm}, a shift kit or manual valve body.... safety, weight transfer, traction & weight to hp ratio, less weight the less hp it take to move it quickly, that is the name of the game, here...

Now this is just how I would do it. My self I would build it to look like this stock 6pk A12 car as I love the look of these bad boys with the black lift off hood and 6pk scoop and the black rims and redline tires. They just say .......I am a bad a$$ muscle car. But I would get wider rims for the back to put about a 28 to 30 x 10 tire in the back. I mean you dont have to tub it to go fast but if you really like that Pro Street look and want 14 x 32's in the back then you gotta tub it. But I run 10's on just 9" tires with no real hook up problem. And I see cars deep in the 9's on 9" tires. Just a thought cause you can put the fuel cell in the trunk but still keep the body stock. Course I still use my stock gas tank with 3/8 line. Ron

I've seen it, it's a cool car. The guy I do believe is from Minnesota and he has a division 5 sticker in his quarter window. . He had it at Car Craft in 2007.

And the Landy car and the "ALLEY-OOP car is the same car. It was my Dads racecar after Dick Landy owned it.
