I don't know if anyone else has run into this problem but I bought new marker lights for my Charger. None of the 4 would tighten down before the tin nut stripped out. They are after market pieces. Probably Chinese, I'm not sure. Anyway, I came up with a fix for the problem. I went to Fastenal and bought 4 lock nuts. They are M24 X2 nuts about 3/8" thick. I then drilled out the tin lock nuts that were provided just enough to use as a washer. I then was able to tighten the assembly enough to make a good ground for the light. Never been a fan of the Chinese crap but I guess when it is all that is out there, it is better than nothing. Here are some pics in case anyone needs to do the same repair. 100_7115.jpg100_7116.jpg100_7117.jpg100_7120.jpg100_7121.jpg100_7123.jpg

Also, I was not happy with the thick gasket that was provided. It would not compress enough so I cleaned up the old gaskets and re-used them

Very resourceful.

How much are the reproduction lights?

I paid $180.00 on Ebay for mine. There are several vendors that have them. I don't know if they are all from the same manufacturer. They look good but the gaskets seem to be too thick as they don't squish down enough in my opinion and the nuts all strip out before they get tight. The old factory made pieces seem to be better but they have a different thread and won't interchange between the old and new. Good Luck

they are basically all the same manufacturer with different vendors. i also bought a complete paint gasket set and it came with the correct ones. they were white but 10 seconds and a sharpie fixed that. (i didnt have the old ones).

im going to fastenal tomorrow

I guess you are having the same issue as I did. Tell the Fastenal guy you need Pn 11507053. It is called a M24 X 2 PinHexJamNut

wow 1.02 each and they wont be here for 10 business days due to being shipped in from canada....

either way thanks

Nice bit of lateral thinking with the additional nuts. Good on you for sharing Sixpac :headbang:
