Dear All, I just purchased a 68 Charger R/T, lots of work to be done, it is in need of a new trunk floor. I have a couple of questions: Does the trunk floor come in the 2 piece option for ease of installation or for those who only need to replace one side? Is the AMD parts the way to go? THANKS!

Yes and yes, AMD is great but... If you order directly thru them you wont be happy, contact Jeff@501 restorations, he can help you with what you need...

The correct email for Jeff is [email protected]. He is the best. Sells cheap and if there is ever a problem he takes care of it. I myself went with a Goodmark trunk floor in my charger and it was probably the best fitting aftermarket sheet metal product I've ever seen. I used AMD other places but used Goodmark on all the floors and it was all great. As for the 2 piece trunk floor the only way to get a 1 piece in is to take lower rear tail pan off the car and even then it still kinda sucks. Unless you have to replace that panel too, stick with the 2 piece.

Like mentioned by Ron, yes a two piece is easier to install. It also has a flanged edge down the middle to give a little play for alignment, plus is easier to weld (lap weld) vs. a butt weld. One piece is great for original looks. Down side is you'll have to have the back tail panel out to slide it in. You could also cut a one piece pan to your liking (so it will fit in through the trunk opening) and butt weld it back together, grinding flush. Again, yes..AMD is the best fit and I wouldn't buy AMD from anyone else but Jeff.

Good luck.
