Can someone tell me where the original connections to the hood signal lights belong and where are the wires suppose to be routed through. Pictures would be appreciated.

IIRC...my'68s hood wires were routed thru the hood frame work, then there were holders that held the wires near the bottom of the hood on each side.

When I purchased my car the hood lights were missing, is there any way I could get photos or somewhere I could reference the connection on the firewall. Trying to keep it stock.

I might have a schematic for you from my shop manual, I can scan it. Mine had them originally, but when I bought the car unfinished, they were gone. I found a used pair and wired them up.

Wiring diagrams

Here is a scan of the wiring diagrams, hope this helps.

I'll take a picture tomorrow, and forward them to you. Mine is original and untouched. I also have a spare set I'm selling when I can post it properly.

68 charger turn signal harness

001.JPG002.JPG003.JPGher is a picture of my harness, I hope I can load it up. The Original is part of the headlight harness, and connects to the bottom quick disconnect. Pink and yellow wire.

Thanks so much! I will pass it on. Thanks for helping me out; this is not one of those things you just can go to the local dealership and check it out.:headbang:

I hope the post helped. I have owned this car since June 1984. It was purchased new in oct 67' in Phoenix. The New owners had graduated from the University of Nebraska/Lincoln, and moved to phoenix. The Young married couple accepted jobs in Phoenix with Continental bank. The parents purchased the charger for the kids as a wedding present. in June 1984 the car showed up or sale in the Arizona republic. the 17 year old Son had run the charger out of oil, and locked the engine up. I came along and bought the car. I moved to Omaha, towed the car. I moved to Houston, towed the car. I moved back to Iowa, towed the car. Finally I put an engine in it in 1989. I painted the car in 1994. Upholstery in 2002. new 383 four barrel engine and transmission in 2012. it is part of the family, and when I depart, one of my kids will own this car. here are a few more pictures. Not an R/T. I have owned a bunch of them, but this car is the family.

I bought the car in phoenix in June of 1985 with a locked up 383 for $450.00 dollars, from the Original owner, as the son drove it out of oil. The engine was not salvageable. I had a couple 383's in it between 1985 and 2002. Finally, a friend had a 68' Plymouth Sport Satellite with a 383 four barrel engine, and a roof of a house had fallen on it in a tornado. I bought the original drivetrain, and kept the title to the body. In 68' the satellites had 330HP engines, not the 335Hp, so it was perfect for me, as chargers didn't have the 335HP either.
I rebuilt the engine and transmission from the satellite, and kept the title to the totalled car. The Plymouth drivetrain had the VIN#, So I keep it with the Charger title. The car is as bone stock and original as you can imagine.(other than the R/T mods) I appreciate everyone liking to build race cars. but this car starts and drives just like 1968, which is what I wanted.
I also added OEM R/T springs and the 780/781 torsion bars, as well as 11'' brakes. I'm up to 1,000 miles on the engine as of last fall. My Daughter was three months old when I bought it, and she graduates this spring with a PHD. She has known this car for her whole life!
