Ok...I have decided to go with Orange motor not the blue...Only to look sic in black engine compartment! I have decided to go black w car (i think). Have not decided on Red or orange stripes...Anyone?? aluminum heads are on the way. and dual quad setup to follow. This thing will be far from stock and I am actually happy about it.

Picking a new color causes a lot of stress doesn't it. I'm in the same boat as you with my project. Not that my opinion matters, but if I had an original yellow car, black top - interior- rump stripe that's what it would be going back to. I think that is a cool color combo on 68-69 Chargers and Super Bees. Plus I had a yellow Cuda 30 years ago in high school - oh the memories.

That is one of my favorite Mopar colors ... talking about the turqoise one. I am really getting to like the light yellow now too

Yeap, that's the most enjoyable part of building a car "building the motor". I think I agree, if my car was factory yellow and black I'd give it a serious thought "great looking color combo".

I already switched it up w orange motor because I like it better than blue that came w 68. I thought it would pop w black. Now I'm really thinking about yellow. Everybody goes black...but they just look so frikin good!! I love the orange stripe.

Going black...What color for the stripes??? Orange? Red? White?

Sweet! I'd vote Matte Black for the stripe. Stealthy. White...Hmmm, might take on the skunk effect. Red, too popular of a stripe color for a black Dodge IMO. Orange, not feeling it. Good luck which ever route you go. Can't wait to see the painted pic's!

If you've found the magical answer of how to do a low cost/done right restoration my friend, you need to write a book because the auto enthusiast crowd has been looking for the answer to that question since Mr. Ford started putting wood wheeled buggies on the road. As of now, that's about like saying Genius/Blonde or Honest/Politician.

Best of luck on your project, looks like a nice solid base to start with.

I'm with Prop/Will on that one... I've never had a low cost & done right restoration, semantics I know...LOL... I do all my own stuff & yes it's much cheaper to do the work yourself, save on labor costs anyway, but it's not "low cost", when replacing a bunch of panels, building engine finding parts, building basically a basket case or doing it right adds to the cost, all the little things add up really fast...LOL... good luck & have fun, I will check in from time to time too...

I know I'm a little late to the show, but I love the 68 Turquoise LL-1 & KK-1 with either white or black accents.... also Dark greens also are some great colors on them, that was what my 1st car was a 68 Charger R/T GG-1 Racing Green Poly with black vinyl top & interior & white R/T stripe

Original and THAT'S FINAL! Whew! It's such a relief knowing what color it's gonna be.

That engine is going to be sweet! Car is looking great, even in the primer it looks good...
