68 charger Trunk carpet

I have owned more than a hundred second generation Chargers, and I would never put a rug that can hold water in the trunk. Every Charger I ever owned leaked water into the trunk.
Devil’s advocate here. Our 66-7 1st gens did not have trunk leaks, unless someone messed with the trunk lid medallion. But they rust from the bottom up.
I cannot compare to the eastern cars.

Sure Ian, but we're talking 68 and up.
Surely they should be able to seal the trunk lids I would think. I think I should possibly quit promoting or extolling the 66-7’s, that will just drive the price of parts and cars up. Then where would I be. Driving another companies vehicle that would be downfall.

It's not the trunklid that leaks; water & crud sitting in the bottom of the rear window channel over time rots the clips, screws and channel out and water gets into the trunk. Whenever I wash mine, I blow out that area, and the rest of the water trapping areas, with compressed air.
