68 Dash Frame Differences A/C vs Non A/C

Hello All,

I am a longtime lurker, beginning to restore my 68 Plymouth Satellite. My car is currently a non-a/c car. I have a complete dash out of a 68 4 door Satellite parts car. with a/c Would it be easier to just swap the entire dash assemblies and use a vintage air, or try to cut the holes for the drivers/passenger vents in the non-a/c dash, and adapt the a/c ducts to it. The dash is currently out of my 2 door, as the car is awaiting paint. I really would like to have factory looking dash vents. Also would the original non-a/c dash pad work in an a/c car?

Yes, the non ac dash is out of the car. Actually, both dashes will be out this weekend.

I did just that on the Coronet. It's pretty straight forward with the dash out of the car. You need the factory vents to mark as templates. A Dremel makes quick work.

Yes, totally different, but I am going to use a non-ac vintage air kit. I just want to be able to use the ac car's dash vents on the drivers/passengers side. The center vent is part of the non-ac vintage air kit.
