I thought I should start a thread for this one as I'm sure I'll be asking for advice along the way. I've been wanting a B-Body for the last few years and the time hasn't yet come for me to purchase one of my own.

The one below is a friends 68 GTX 440, 4 speed, dana car I've been storing in my spare garage bay since Sept. Since one day I want one of my own I offered to get it road ready for him from being in storage the last few years.

Starting off I'm going to change the fluids, fuel pump, and do a basic tune up. We'll see what else happens after that. Oh and get the dash tac working.

Thanks in advance for all the help I'm sure I'll get!

The pictures are from today after it's first bath in a couple of years and getting all the dust and cob webs off of it.

They're great cars, they really are. Further, you're a very good friend for the efforts you're making on your friends' behalf. :usflag:
I've been through mine stem to stern - a former "field find" that's been years in the making.

She looks original - has it ever been apart? Awesome if so!
Oh, have your friend fetch a factory service manual for it if he hasn't already - they're worth their weight in gold. The wiring diagrams alone will help you with diagnosing the tach issue, for example.

Got started on this finally last week!

The car has been kind of redone here and there but other parts are completely original. So it's cool, but needs some odds and ends finished.

So far I've done a fuel pump and new fuel lines from it to the carb, new pedal covers, new dome light, and a new windshield washer reservoir and pump. Still need to swap the wiper motor, fix ebrake release, and drive it and see what else it needs! Really looking forward to driving it. Pics below for those who like pics. Currently I'm driving a '16 Scat Pack Challenger in the last pic to see if I want one. It's a much different animal than my corvette!
