Takin out my 4 speed just wondering is it ok to put a couple of jack stands under k frame.

I would put them under the frame rails with a floor jack back up under the K Frame. If you have a set of ramps even better. If you are not lifting the rear make sure you put parking brake on and chock it good too.

P.S. depending on where you might put jack stands under the k frame they may slip based on the curves so be very careful and give a few good shoves in all directions no matter what you do and make sure both sides of the forks on the jack stands are engaged on the frame. And let someone know you are under there and to check on you.

Rear end is off ground

The k frame is very sturdy and I've jacked on it with a floor jack A LOT w/o worry but I was concerned when you are talking about using jack stands under the K frame and I'm concerned if you do that only. It's not square like frame rails so I wouldn't only have jack stands under the k frame
