68 R/T dash is dead !!!!

My 68 Charger R/T's dash is dead, nothing works. Where do I start to get this corrected Gentlemen????

I'd grab a test light, check for power going into the alternator guage. Then start testing wires feeding into the lights, make sure it's grounded. There are so many different circuits on there that should be feeding power into it, it doesn't make sense that EVERYTHING is dead... lights, guages, switches. Doesn't look good. You may just have to grab a new wiring harness and hope.

If I remember right, there's a red wire that comes thru the bulkhead connector that powers almost all of the dash, check it from the engine compartment side. Have fun, be patient, and don't get frustrated cause what you have is something that is going to take a lot of troubleshooting

I was having the same problem and I had a bad fuse that blew in the engine compartment at the bulkhead. But that also cut power key to start the car also. Ground is a big part as stated and I would check all of your fuses if you have not already done so. Good luck

I now have the light switch working, wiper control, windshield washer working, hazards, blinker lights working in dash. Seems like a bad connection on everything so far. I removed those connections and cleaned.The rest to follow brother in time. LOL Thanks again for the tip.

Hey Brother,
just a heads up on the dash. Everything quit working again. After a day of going throught the dash I located the problem. Bad ignition switch(connector). re seated all the wires in the clip and now shes working. Ecept for the TicToc Tac. Power wire connector was broke off the clock. I spent some time fixing the HACK job under the dash also. If you know of a Tic Toc Tac and factory radio for a 68 charger I would be most thankful to find one. Thanks for the help.
