Ok, I keep reading that we need a drop base for our air cleaners on the big blocks using the Edelbrock RPM intake. Ford racing makes one supposedly? I am trying to keep the stock unsilenced top with the pie tin for stock looks. I hear this is 13" diameter? Anyone know where to get one of these?

Anyone ever run this from Mancini Racing and have success?

Since the Performer RPM intake is taller than most, you do need an air cleaner base that drops down aways, to get the top to clear the hood. The one pictured there may work. The only way to make sure, is to order one and try it, or ask some one who has used that combo.

Some bases may interfere with kickdown linkage clearance.

I recently purchased the Mancini drop down for a 13" Mopar air cleaner. If I recall it was over an inch drop. I had replaced my 383 with a stroked 400, same single plane intake, pretty much same on outside.. I added a 1" spacer with the over an inch drop and the hood wouldn't close. Doesn't make sense. But I used a 14" drop of 1.75 and fit good. I'm not using a performer rpm but a torker.

I will say the Mancini drop down is well built and looks good, fit over a Holley dp easily and plenty of room for Lokar throttle and kick down.
